Farmhouse product. Lancashire Blue is a high-quality English blue cheese made by Carron Lodge in the traditional way using milk from their own farm. It is matured for 2 weeks in cellars to form a beautiful natural rind and to allow mould to develop in the paste. It is then wrapped in aluminium foil and matured for a further 2 to 3 weeks. It represents Lancashire’s rich cheese-making heritage. It has a beautiful marbled appearance thanks to the veins of blue mould and a creamy, tangy flavour with hints of hazelnut and a hint of sweetness. Paired with a robust red wine or craft beer, it offers a unique taste experience.
