Wuider means “wild” in the Bavarian dialect. The Wuider Tegernseer is a rustic and aromatic cheese with a pressed, cooked paste, ripened for 9 months minimum and coated in herbs. The herbs used are wild herbs from the Tegernsee region, in the Bavarian Prealps. They are all local and carefully selected: wild garlic, oregano, wild thyme, dandelion and nettle. Their flavours work in perfect harmony with the cheese, and they bring their health benefits to everyone who eats it!nThe alpine region of Tegernsee forms an enchanting land with sparkling lakes and the soil is rich and produces high-quality grass with exceptional floral diversity. There a handful of farmers came together in 2007 to form the cooperative Naturkäserei Tegernseer Land. Their shared goal: to promote local and sustainable agriculture. To achieve this, the cooperative works with 20 farmers located within 15 km of the cheese dairy, and providing only high-quality fresh milk from hay-fed cows (TSG).
