I joined the Fromi Group in 2007 on a VIE basis as an area manager in the Stuttgart region. The Sales Department then offered me a permanent contract to manage the Bavaria area. After two years in Munich, I took the chance of a business development opportunity in New York. I have been in New York since 2011 and have been able to develop the subsidiary, which now has three other employees. We have just opened a subsidiary in Canada. In April 2016 I was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the USA subsidiary. What I have always enjoyed about Fromi is the opportunity to grow, and to do a multitude of things. There's always something new, and that's what makes it so exciting. It's never routine.
In 2010 I applied for a position as Area Manager in Hamburg. Finally, I ended up in Vienna. The company seduced me, the interview went well, I met dynamic people. I felt that the company was both a group and a start-up. After 6 months, I was offered to take over the responsibility of the whole of Austria on both retail and gastronomy distribution channels. On January 1, 2012, I was given the opportunity to take over responsibility for the Italian market with a sales person under my responsibility. I was quite surprised, because the Fromi management remembered that I also spoke Italian. That's how I got my foot in the door in the export business. And at the same time, it was my first step as a manager. In 2014, I also took over Spain. At the beginning, I didn't speak Spanish at all, but thanks to Fromi, it allowed me to learn the basics of an additional language which is always interesting. I am currently in charge of the German and Austrian markets for all our retail customers. There are 7 sales people under my responsibility who work in these areas. I love my job in sales. For me, selling means offering solutions to customers, helping them in their own development and strengthening their business, but also dealing with gastronomic products that have an excellent reputation. Finally, I really enjoy my job as a manager: accompanying the salespeople, giving them ideas, being there when there are difficulties, celebrating successes with them and making sure that they grow together with Fromi.
I started́ at Fromi in November 2004 in the telesales department. Thereafter I evolved within the sales administration department: on the Austrian, Swiss and German markets. Since 2014 I have been in charge of the ADV large export accounts. In my current position, I manage key accounts in Switzerland, Austria, the UK, but also in the USA, Japan and Australia. So our playground is the whole world. In my job, you have to know how to adapt to all the different cultures because the Swiss mentality is not necessarily the Belgian mentality. It's kind of like a chameleon role. Since the beginning of 2016, I have taken responsibility of this department with a management role. What I like about Fromi is our flexibility towards customers, and towards suppliers. Finally, Fromi gives you the opportunity to grow with the company.
