8-Blumen voted Switzerland’s favourite cheese 2026!
Ths is a fantastic distinction for the 8-Blumen cheese from Koch Cheese Dairy and available from Fromi: it has been voted Switzerland’s favourite cheese 2026 by the Falstaff community.
Voted Switzerland’s favourite cheese by the Falstaff community
Gastronomy magazine Falstaff invited its community to nominate their favourite Swiss cheeses. After an initial nomination phase, the ten most frequently nominated cheeses were put to a public vote. With more than one third of the votes, 8-Blumen took first place, ahead of two great classics of Swiss cheese heritage: Le Gruyère AOP came second with around 27% of the votes, while Appenzeller ranked third with around 8%.
Created by Kevin Koch, a cosmopolitan and innovative Swiss cheese affineur, and produced in his cheese dairy in the canton of Appenzell, 8-Blumen is a semi-hard cheese made from raw cow’s milk. What makes it so special? After maturing for at least 90 days, its rind is covered with a tailor-made coating made from a blend of 8 different flowers, giving the cheese its truly distinctive character. A feast for both the eyes and the palate, the floral aromas penetrate deep into the cheese, creating a complete and unique symphony of flavours.
This first place in the Falstaff voting confirms the appeal of this original speciality among cheese lovers.

8-Blumen is available from Fromi. A beautiful Swiss speciality that brings colour and originality to your range and is sure to catch the eye at the cheese counter!
