Argental, mastering the art of soft cheese for 40 years

At the heart of this edition lies an exceptional anniversary: we celebrate 40 years of Argental. Founded in 1985 in the heart of the Pilat mountain range, in a small hamlet in the Loire region, the brand was born from the meeting of Xavier David, the founder of Fromi, and a passionate local goat cheesemaker.
For four decades, Argental has established itself as a benchmark thanks to its ultrafiltered soft cheeses, combining smoothness and character. While the range initially included only two products – Chèvre and Lingot d’Argental – it has since expanded significantly and now offers around thirty specialities made from four different type of milks: cow, goat, sheep and buffalo.
And the story continues! The range is expanding with a new creation: Velours d’Argental. This soft cheese made from cow’s milk stands out for its creamy texture and subtly sweet and salty flavour, delivering a unique sensation of freshness. It is a true tribute to the craftsmanship that has driven the brand since 1985.
